We really loved our stay at Pihopa Retreat. Sarah made us feel so at home and our room, the Hilliard Suite, was incredibly comfortable with lots of space. From the incredible breakfast in the chapel, the wonderful pre-dinner drinks and snacks, the dinner reservations and taxi rides, the delicious desserts left in our room everyday, the hot tub, turn down service and coming back to a lit fireplace at night, the whole team at Pihopa truly went above and beyond to make this a truly special stay. Can’t recommend enough!

My wife and I flew in from the states and spent three wonderful nights at Pihopa. This was a trip booked prior to covid and we were originally staying at Eden House, which is no longer serving due to covid. I had concerns as we had not heard of Pihopa Retreat. IT FAR EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS! The rooms are beyond luxurious and the grounds are immaculate. Sarah and her staff were awesome and there when we needed them and then disappeared when not needed. We stayed in the Hilliard Suite. I would highly recommend Pihopa Retreat and honestly cannot think of anything they could have done to improve the facilities.

You would have never guessed that Pihopa was in this small town but it is an incredible gem to find. Sarah treats everyone as if they were her own family. She is incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The breakfast is incredible and the eggs were cooked to perfection (dare I say the best scrambled eggs I’ve had?!). 5+ stars!

We recently captured a beautiful wedding at Pihopa Retreat and cannot rave about this stunning venue enough! This venue has so much to offer, not only does it have some beautiful locations for wedding photography to be captured with established trees and beautifully cared-for gardens, it also has a gorgeous chapel for an indoor ceremony option as well as a large grasses area which looks out over Nelson City perfect for an outdoor ceremony and Reception venue. Our couple had a large clear marquee set up in this space and it worked so well. I must mention, they have amazing accommodation options onsite too which saved time having to travel between locations and made the day so relaxed.
