Stunning setting. Had a very enjoyable lunch and I chose roasted vegetable which was better than expected. Beautifully presented and much enjoyed. Really recommend it as a place to visit. Pays to book so you aren't disappointed.

We went for high tea at Melrose and my family and I were absolutely amazed by everything! The price was very good for what we got: $36 per person and we each got 5 savouries and 5 sweets, plus a non-alcoholic drink. The food was beautifully presented, tasted delicious, and the drinks were awesome and unique. We tried the elderflower and rose sodas, each had a very floral and fruity flavour that was not too sweet and very refreshing. The staff were very helpful, and our waitress happily explained all the treats served with our high tea. The interior was very elegant, I found myself admiring all the teacup sets on the shelves for decoration. The Melrose House has an interesting and you could read about it in the garden, and take a short walk around the area. I'm definitely telling everyone I know about this place, and if I ever go to Nelson again, I'll be returning to this place.

I used to work at Melrose Cafe for 7 months last year, and those 7 months working there were the best months of my life. Melrose cafe is owned by an amazing Family who I had the pleasure to become friends with. They live and breathe this Cafe and put so much love, effort and care into it. Their food is impeccable, so beautifully crafted, and the menu is inclusive for everyone (Vegan, GF, DF etc). The atmosphere is so warm, comfy and friendly, the house is covered around a beautiful mini forest of trees and it is an amazing place to bring your dog, specially in the summer! The staff are some of the most amazing people I've met and they are always so friendly and never fail to put a smile on your face. If you are ever in nelson, I recommend melrose cafe 100% P.S. Their coffee is to die for
