The Centre of New Zealand is one of Nelson Tasman’s most popular walks. As the central trig point used for surveying in the 1870’s, the site is adorned with a giant white pin that identifies its unique history. The walk itself takes 20-60 minutes depending on your fitness, and caters to push chairs and buggies.

Nice view at the top! It did take me 20 minutes, and was challenging but do-able as someone who isn’t used to elevation/hiking. FYI there aren’t any benches until the last 5 minutes or so. There is seating all the way at the top. There were also signs for lots of other trails/gardens ~45 minutes farther along the way, so you could make a day out of it if you wanted to see more!
